Well, folks, Patch 37.0 is dropping tomorrow, and I've got to say, it's one of the biggest pre-expansion patches I've ever seen. And I've seen a few. My wallet is already crying, and my free time is planning its funeral. But hey, at least we get a free pack from Journey mode, right? Let's dive into this beautiful chaos.
🎉 The Pre-Release Brawl Is Back (and It's Weird Now)
The Pre-Release Tavern Brawl runs from October 13 to October 19. But it's not the same old brawl you remember. You build decks using only cards from Reign of the Black Empire, and everyone starts with free trial copies of all Common and Rare cards. You also choose from predefined multi-class combos—most are three classes, but one special two-class combo has enhanced C'Thun synergies. Because of course it does.
If you manage six wins, you get two Tavern Tickets and a pack. If you go undefeated? You get the Godlike Brawler card back and two tickets. I'll probably go 0-3 and cry into my keyboard.
🏟️ New Arena Season and a Demon Hunter Skin
All ongoing Arena runs end on October 13, and a new season begins. The card pool includes Reign of the Black Empire, Across the Timeways, TITANS, Showdown in the Badlands, Perils in Paradise, Core Set, and Event Set. Your first 12-win run in Underground unlocks the Il'gynoth hero skin for Demon Hunter. After that, 12-win runs give you two Golden Reign of the Black Empire packs. There are also five new Arena feats, each with two parts. Part 1 usually involves opening packs, and Part 2 requires finishing an Underground run with 6+ wins. Easy, right? (Narrator: It was not easy.)
💰 Tavern Rewards: Shop. Earn. Redeem.
Starting October 20, Blizzard introduces Tavern Rewards. You buy eligible stuff in the Battle.net Shop, you earn Tavern Tender, and then you redeem it in the Tavern Rewards Vault for packs, signature cards, card backs, hero skins, and more. It's like a loyalty program, but for digital cardboard. Tavern Rewards will be available in all regions except Mainland China. Also, every Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. PDT, you can claim a free weekly reward. Free stuff! My favorite price.
📖 Journey Mode Is Live
Journey mode is now live in the Hearthstone Journal. It combines story, quests, rewards, events, and seasonal experiences into one campaign. There are seven chapters releasing weekly, and each one awards a Reign of the Black Empire pack. Complete Chapter 1 for a pack right away. The Journal also has tabs for Quests, Rewards, Feats (formerly achievements), Profile, and Bookmarks. It's like a whole new game inside the game.

🎡 Darkmoon Faire Treasures: Old Gods Edition
From October 20 to December 1, you can pull for the Signature C'Thun wheel. From October 23 to December 1, there's the Y'Shaarj Mythic skin wheel for Priest and Shaman—it transforms after you play 30 mana worth of minions. And from November 3 to December 1, you can get the N'Zoth pet wheel. The pet reacts to your gameplay, has a fishing mini-game, and levels up to unlock skins like Fish N'Zoth and Brain Jelly N'Zoth. I need it.
🃏 The Card Back of Your Nightmares
One of the coolest card backs ever is in this patch. Unfortunately, it's damn near impossible to get and will require you to sell an arm and a leg on such short notice. I'm not saying I'm considering it, but I'm also not not saying it.
🐛 Bug Fixes and More
There are a ton of bug fixes for Hearthstone, Battlegrounds, and cosmetics. Flames of Infinity, Shadow of Demise, Beastspeaker Taka, Spikeridged Steed, Haunt, and various Battlegrounds issues are all addressed. Plus, some Signature card visual bugs and a missing voice line for Dino Cloner Zerek. It's the little things.
So, what am I most excited about? Honestly, the N'Zoth pet. And the free pack from Journey. And maybe the Diamond Rajh from the new Rewards Track. Okay, fine, I'm excited about everything. See you in the Tavern—just don't ask me about my credit card bill. 🎲
